SQL/Report Developer

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop a full working knowledge of the current and future lines of business we underwrite/service.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, generate reports, prepare data visualizations, and use data to assist in the forecasting or guiding business activity.

  • Address legacy reports, understanding their purpose and propose necessary modifications.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of various business departments to comprehend their data and reporting needs.

  • Propose data-centric improvements, capturing and utilizing data more effectively.

  • Collect, audit, compile, and validate data from multiple sources.

  • Tool Development: Support and extend a wide variety of internal and external tools.

  • Develop and manage business intelligence solutions for the organization.

  • Collaborate with colleagues for the purpose of collecting and structuring data.

  • Be able to perform with an extremely high level of attention to detail.

  • Consistently demonstrate a professional, positive, team-oriented attitude while performing job duties.

  • Pursue a program of personal and professional development.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Desired Skills

  • 4 + years Programming experience using SQL required.

  • Must have knowledge of relational databases and the ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, and functions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

  • Knowledge and awareness of standard IT practices for quality control and audit trails

  • Strong technical skills including managing large data sets and Excel.

  • Experience with automation and process improvement is a plus.

  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to work independently and balance daily operations and projects.

  • Experience in the insurance industry, preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft Access, preferred.

  • Experience with Power BI, preferred.
